Charlie's Army light up Worcester sky in memory of Kidderminster toddler
9:24pm Friday 15th February 2013 in News By Neil Watts
CROWDS gathered to light up the night sky over Worcester in honour of brave little Charlie Harris-Beard who lost his battle with leukaemia.
Chinese lanterns filled the air as people continued to celebrate the life of the inspirational two-year-old from Kidderminster by releasing illuminations from the banks of the river Severn by Café Severn, Grandstand Road.
The spectacle was organised by friends, family and people, known as Charlie’s Army, whose lives were touched by the toddler.
Writing on the Help save baby Charlie Harris-Beard Facebook page, which has more than 51,700 ‘likes’, Lauren Wilson said: “Light up the sky little soldier! xxxxxxxxx You will be the brightest star shining:)xxxxxx”
Sarah Isneva Goode wrote: “The world will be lit up for you Charlie !! Charlie's Army are gunna do you proud !! Xxxx”
And Sarah Marsh added: “It's going to be magical Charlie :0) just like you xxxx”
His supporters are continuing their work to help raise awareness of Cords4Life, the charity set up by his parents Fiona Harris and Joe Beard, with the Crown pub at Wychbold, near Droitwich, holding a fund-raising family fun day on Saturday, February 23 and variety of organisations backing a bid to collect plastic bottle tops to be recycled.

While watching them, one fell onto our garden fence in flames, which I quickly put out. I hope ours was an isolated incident.
Good luck to Cords4Life and all of Charlie's Army. I wish you all well with the campaign.
