CHARITY SKYDIVE: Chelsea Williams, aged 23, from Evesham, pictured with her husband Ben and two daughters Livie and Evie.
AN Evesham mum is set to leap from a plane to raise money for a charity that supported her when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
Chelsea Williams, of Albert Road, Evesham, was just 22 and pregnant with her second daughter when she found out she had MS.
Since suffering the illness and the birth of her child, she has set up a blog to tell her story and help others facing the same challenges.
She said: “It was very hard when I was diagnosed. I lost the sight in my left eye and when I relapse it affects my right eye. It has made being a mum much harder.
“I can’t be on my own a lot.
You have to let go and ask for help, which is hard when you are a mum and used to getting on with it.
“I started the blog a few months after I was diagnosed, as I was struggling with it. It is very honest. When the blog started it was for me, now it has become something for others.
“One person who had just been diagnosed said the best thing about her diagnosis was finding my blog.”
Now the 23-year-old is hoping to raise some money for the MS Society, a charity that has supported her, by doing a skydive in Newbury on Saturday, March 16.
“I think the skydive will be a free feeling for me, a chance not to think about everything for a few minutes,” she said.
“I am not really setting a goal for my fund-raising but I want to give back to the MS Society who have done so much for me.”
