SHAKESPEARE comedy The Taming of the Shrew will be brought to life by pupils at Prince Henry’s High School next week.

The budding actors and actresses will take to the stage at the Evesham Arts Centre next Thursday for three days to perform their modern version of the play.

Using the original text, this colourful interpretation is set in the 1980s when women struggled for equal rights and money talked.

The comedy, which is filled with 1980s disco classics, follows Baptista Minola, a rich lady from Padua in Italy, who wants to marry off her eldest shrew-like daughter Katherina before she will allow anyone to marry her beautiful younger daughter, Bianca.
