YOUNGSTERS from a cluster of Vale schools enjoyed entertainment from a group of actors who put on a masked show.

The touring actors from Vamos Theatre performed their play, Finding Joy, described as a comic, anarchic, touching and heroic adventure.

The play is a coproduction with the Courtyard Herefordshire’s Centre for the Arts and follows Joy, who loses her memory and her grandson, Danny, who becomes her carer.

Sally Martin, headteacher at Charlton with Cropthorne First School who welcomed children from Eckington, Ashton, Bredon Hancocks and Sedgeberrow schools, said: “We had a brilliant day and all the children took part in different mask workshops in the morning.

“Our pupils have come back to school full of questions and thoughts they want to discuss. There were about 130 children in the audience and their enjoyment was evident through the lack of fidgeting.”
