YOUNGSTERS celebrated the patron saint of Wales with daffodils and Welsh cakes.

Children from Treetops Nursery in Birlingham, near Pershore, marked St David’s Day with a host of activities inspired by the country. After looking at the Welsh flag they got messy attempting to create their own versions and also made daffodils.

The youngsters also planted some seeds of their own and helped to cook some Welsh cakes which they enjoyed at tea time.

Lisa O’Neill, deputy manager, said: “The children had a great day and many of them were able to make links with their own experiences, telling us all about Welsh family or holidays to Wales.”

Pictured with their Welsh flags are Zara Griffiths and Maisey Ward, both three.
