DRINKERS who used to frequent a popular Evesham nightspot 20 years ago can meet up with some old friends when a reunion is held this weekend.

Regulars and not-so regulars who may have enjoyed a pint at Stargazer or a dance in Roxanne’s nightclub are being invited to attend the get-together on Saturday.

The evening has been organised by Adrian Moulton and Nick Taylor, or Ade and Nik as they were known, who ran the premises for 18 months between 1992 and 1993 in what they refer to as the ‘rock and indie years’.

The duo are trying to contact as many old faces as possible to reminisce about the old days as it is first and foremost a reunion, but say the event is open to all as newcomers will be able to find out what they missed out on.

“You don’t have to have been a regular to attend but we are looking forward to catching up with some old friends,” said Mr Molton.

He added: “We were only there for a relatively short period of time but it was great fun. I’m hoping there will be a lot of ‘do you remember when’ conversations.

We have had some commemorative T-shirts made and people can buy them from the website and wear them on the night.”

The old Stargazer pub on Evesham High Street is now owned by Wetherspoons and is called The Old Swanne Inne. The upstairs part of the building used to be known as Roxanne’s nightclub where drinkers could go to extend their partying well into the early hours.

The event is being held at Evesham Working Men’s Club on Merstow Green from 7pm.

Tickets are priced at £10 and can be bought from stargazerand roxannes.co.uk (where T-shirts are also available) or by popping in to Moulton Hair & Beauty on Port Street, Bengeworth, or Bonk, High Street. Some may also be available on the door.
