Fund-raising boost

 THE Pershore and District branch of Arthritis Research UK raised £10,000 during its 30th anniversary year.

“This has only been achieved by the generosity of our loyal supporters by way of membership and attendance at the various events during the year,” said Brenda Curtis, branch secretary.

Mrs Curtis said the most welcome and wonderful sponsorship was provided by Pershore Town Choir and as a result a cheque for £2,000 was presented to branch president Helen Fowler, who thanked members of the choir under the leadership of musical director David Barclay for giving so much pleasure while raising money for such a worthwhile cause.

Mrs Curtis said all the money raised had been sent to the national charity towards continuing research into the many debilitating forms of arthritis.
