We need a new road We need a new road

A PETITION calling for a new road to be built to the north of Pershore has been signed by 500 people less than a week after it was launched.

A campaign group wants the road, known as the Pershore Northern Link, to be constructed to ease traffic congestion at the Pinvin crossroads. They say that if it is not built before 600 proposed new homes are constructed, Pershore will come to a standstill.

County Councillor Liz Tucker, who is leading the campaign, said: “There is great interest in the link – nearly everyone we’ve spoken to believes it is needed and wants to see it built.

“Copies of the petition are now in the town hall and signatures are being collected around the villages affected.”

Anyone that can help the campaign should contact Liz Tucker on 01386 462441 or liztucker@ tiscali.co.uk.
