AN Evesham childminder, who has created an “exceptionally vibrant” learning environment, has received a rating of outstanding by an Ofsted inspector.
Little Angels nursery, based in Spinney Grove, was set up by childminder Kim Walker in February last year. The inspection took place in October last year – just eight months after the service was launched.
Ms Walker, who has more than a decade of experience working in nurseries and the childcare sector, said: “Lots of people said it would be really tough to get an outstanding grade so soon after opening so I’m absolutely delighted to have achieved it.”
The nursery caters for young children between the ages of two and four, and offers Saturday clubs.
Ms Walker also runs specialist care for older children with learning difficulties on a Monday night in Bengeworth.
She added: “When the inspector told me her findings I almost cried I was so happy.
“I have some exciting plans for Little Angels, such as turning my garage into a soft play area.”
Inspector Diane Ashplant praised Ms Walker’s understanding of how young children learn, as well as the ‘very good balance of free play, adult-led activities and outdoor play’ at Little Angels.
The report reads: “The childminder has created an exceptionally vibrant and varied learning environment for children to explore, both inside and out, which is rich in print and natural items.
“These provide children with a vast array of interesting experiences that inspire their natural curiosity and stimulate their learning.”
