THE owner of a missing peregrine falcon called Spitfire says he is hoping and praying' that the bird will wing its way home to him soon.
Nathan Sandford, who lives in Gloucester, loaned her to his friend, Nigel Cound, on Wednesday to help clear seagulls and crows from the landfill site at Throckmorton, where he was he working.
She was last seen heading in the Badsey direction later that evening.
"We have not been able to get a signal or a sighting of her since then," said Nathan. "I don't know the area at all because I am from Gloucester so can't really go and search for her.
"I just hope that someone out there has spotted her. Apparently she flew off towards Throckmorton airfield but I just don't know my way around, so wouldn't know where to start looking."
A reward is being offered for information leading to her safe recovery. Anyone who thinks they may have seen the bird can call Nigel on 07900 471856 or 01452 547762 or Nathan on 07905 389853 or 01531 821679.
