A TEAM of men will be jumping in a multi-coloured car wearing fancy dress and driving more than 1,000 miles from Evesham to Monte Carlo.

The group of four, named Santa’s Not So Little Helpers, will take on the challenge next month (July) in festive fashion all in support of charity Children Today.

They are taking part in the Monte Carlo or Bust Banger Rally, where groups travel from Saint Quentin to Monte Carlo over three days.

First, the not-so-little helpers will be driving their VW Golf, worth around £250 and sprayed multi-coloured, to the starting point from the Vale.

Round Table member Glen Lyon, of Evesham, is one of the team members, alongside his son Stuart Lyon, of Evesham, and club member Barry Andrew, of Harvington, and chairman for the local branch Ian McWilliam, also from Evesham.

He said: “I will be dressed as Rudolph, my son, who is 6ft 7in will be an elf, there will be another elf and a man in a Santa outfit.

“We are hoping to raise around £3,000. It is going to be a blast. I have been thinking about doing it since the beginning of the year since I first saw the website.

“It is what the Round Table is about, having a good time and helping people out.”
