A TOUCH of Hollywood glamour will be bought to the fields of Wick, near Pershore, this weekend as the annual village fete takes place.

The theme of Saturday’s event is Wick goes to the Movies and a familiar face will be opening the gates. Robert Fripp, guitarist with King Crimson and husband of Toyah Willcox, will be kicking off proceedings at 1.30pm along with Pershore town crier Robert Speight. Visitors in glamorous attire will be entered into a fancy dress competition.

There will be much to see at the event including a working steam engine and showman’s caravan, live music from local jazz quartet Blue Monday, magic from Tyro the Magician, a fun village dog show with entry on the day, photography competition, craft display, children’s games, skittles, coconut shy, wet sponge throwing and favourite traditional fête stalls.

There will also be teas in the manor gardens, a barbecue and ice cream. Entry is £1 with children free. For more information visit wickfete.org
