Medics report no mishaps ... apart from wasp stings
2:20pm Saturday 14th September 2013 in News
MEDICAL teams on the showground had a busy day treating people for wasp stings.
Paul Bodman, the event’s first aid co-ordinator for the Red Cross said it had been a fairly quiet day except for the stings.
“We’ve just had lots of people with wasp stings,” he said. “They are in for a few seconds then they are off.
We’ve had a couple of falls.
For an event like this it’s been extremely quiet.”
Meanwhile, the police also reported a quiet day and said they were happy with how the event passed off.
Sergeant Rich Smith, of Stow police station, who was doing rounds of the showground, said: “It’s been a fantastic day. It’s been really well organised, there hasn’t been any issues of traffic. Everyone is walking round with a smile on their face. We are very happy.”
