Bless these pets...

A CARE home in Broadway which held a pet service for the first time is hoping to make it an annual event.
Dogs, budgies, a guinea pig, parrot and even a pigmy goat gathered around the lounge of Bupa Brompton House, Station Road, for a special service last Tuesday (10).
Led by lay preacher Jo Williamson, of St Michael’s Church in the village, nearly 20 relatives and carers sang hymns before the animals received a blessing.
Sally Pape, activities co-ordinator, said: “We’ve always got a bit of interest going on in Brompton, we’ve got two chickens, budgies and canaries.
“We’re interested in animals and we have relatives coming in to visit with dogs. It sort of was the next step on. We thought it would be even nice if we could make something more of it and the service seemed to be a good idea.
“It was really successful. We are hoping we might ask if we can do it annually. The residents really enjoyed it.
“We had three hymns, they were all singing at the tops of their voices. It was really good. The animals were well behaved.”
