EVESHAM’S Almonry museum is taking part in a nationwide event encouraging people of all ages to pick up their pens and pencils and get drawing.

The Big Draw, which is supported by artists such as Sir Quentin Blake, David Hockney and Gerald Scarfe, will begin at the Almonry Heritage and Tourist Information Centre in Abbey Gate today.

The event will run for two weeks, finishing on Sunday, November 3, and will see everyone that takes part adding their own imaginings to a giant map of the town.

So if visitors think Evesham could do with a castle, they can draw one.

As part of the event The Almonry is providing activity packs available for children at £1 each and for those aged seven and under there’s the Witch’s Cauldron pack for children to see if they can find the monocle of a newt and toe of slug Esmeralda to complete her spell.

For the over sevens there is the tricky Trick or Treat trail to find the answers to a fiendishly difficult quiz and get a certificate at the end.

All the activity packs contain a trail, quizzes and everything you need to make your very own scaredy cat.

For more information contact Tonia Collett at The Almonry on 01386 446944.

The Almonry is open from 10am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays, and on Sundays (March to end October only) from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is currently free until the end of November.
