A CONTROVERSIAL application to build a chicken farm near Upton Snodsbury which was thrown out by planners is to go to appeal.
Wychavon District Council’s planning committee rejected the plans to house 80,000 chickens in a broiler farm on land north east of Froghall Bungalow, Naunton Road, on October 10.
But the council has now confirmed the application is going to appeal.
Residents who rallied against the plans forming a campaign group called the Wychavon Parishes Action Group, are now regrouping to fight the appeal.
Terry Eagle, Upton Snodsbury Parish Council chairman, said: “The applicant has appealed.
We had a meeting of the Wychavon Parishes Action Group to discuss what we should do.
“One of the things we are concerned about is flooding. We really need aerial photos of the site. We are doing all we can to get this application rejected.”
Anyone with aerial photos of the site is asked to e-mail st@eveshamjournal.co.uk.
