AN animal sanctuary charity has opened its first shop in Evesham.
Sambourne Donkey Sanctuary, launched in 1994, has opened a shop in the former curtain shop in Mostyns Units, Avon Street.
The huge 8,000sq ft shop sells second-hand homeware including traditional and pine furniture, white goods, bric-a-brac, CDs, records and new and second- hand beds.
Rosa Keenan, who used to own Rosa’s Emporium in the High Street, has been collecting goods for the store.
She said: “It’s really exciting. It’s a charity shop with a difference. I think most of them are all the same.
“We’ve got a wide selection of goods. It’s a really big space.”
The shop welcomes any donations. Opening hours are 10.30am to 5pm, Monday to Saturdays. To contact the shop call 01386 424666.
