AFTER spending more than 15 years reading to children in her job as a nanny, a Vale woman is starting a new chapter in her life.

Rachael Clayson, of Bretforton, has created a new range of personalised children’s books called My Bespoke Books.

The 36-year-old decided to write and illustrate a book for the daughter of a special friend who was in the middle of a gruelling course of chemotherapy to battle cancer.

The book allowed them to escape on a fantastical adventure while still at home and was so well received she decided to put together all the stories she had written over the years for everyone to enjoy.

“I’ve written and told stories for as long as I can remember, and having nannied and taught for over 15 years, I know the perfect formula to an amazing adventure story,” she said.

“One of my fondest childhood memories is being told improvised stories by my parents, where the thread of the story would be changed by my suggestion.

“So I know just how special a personalised adventure can be.”

My Bespoke Books was launched with a Halloween special and a Christmas story is already selling like hot mince pies.

The books are now on sale in LIFE Emporium, in Evesham or online at my-bespoke-books.co.uk.
