A CHRISTMAS morning walk went awry for one dog owner and his pet when they became stranded in floodwater at Worcester Racecourse.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service boat crews from Worcester and Malvern were called to Pitchcroft at about 7.30am after the pair became surrounded by water after the River Severn broke its banks.
