AN angry boyfriend punched a wardrobe door which fell on his partner, a court was told.

Kamil Komasinski, aged 27, of Abbey Road, Evesham, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday, December 20.

The court was told how Komasinki did not accept his relationship with Anna Dudaiewicz had broken down, which she said was due to his controlling behaviour.

Owen Beale, prosecuting, said that on Tuesday, August 13, Komasinki became angry that Miss Dudaiewicz was going out with friends and while in their bedroom, he punched a wardrobe door which fell off and hit her head, causing large bruising to her eyebrow.

“He was trying to control her behaviour, and as they were living together with two others at the time of the offence, Miss Dudaiewicz moved into the lounge to get away from him,”

Mr Beale said.

“This assault has come as a result of his controlling nature.”

Genevieve Worthington, defending, said: “He has a number of good characteristics and no previous convictions. He couldn’t move out of their address at the time due to rent payments.

“He did not mean to hit her with the door but accepts he should not have done this.”

Chairman of the bench John Taylor said: “This was a reckless act and a result Anna was injured.”

Komasinski was given a 12- month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £140 costs.

He was also given a restraining order of two years, during which he must not directly or indirectly contact Miss Dudaiewicz.
