NORTH Cotswolds Rotary Club will be collecting old computers for charity in the New Year.

People can donate their equipment to rotarians in the car park at the Tesco store, Stow, between 11am and 2pm on Saturday.

All donations will go to the Cheltenham-based charity, IT Schools Africa.

Items which can be donated include working desk top computers which are less than six years old, flat screen monitors, laptops (Pentium IV and above) and must be accompanied by power adaptor, keyboards, mice and power leads.

People can also donate black and white laser printers, spare hard-drives, CD drives and floppy drives.

However, CRT Monitors, inkjet and colour laser printers, scanners, servers, network equipment or Apple Macs and iBooks cannot be accepted.

Once it has received donations, IT Schools Africa erases all hard drives using ‘Kill Disk’ professional data wiping software.
