IT has never been cheaper to travel into Evesham or to park there when you arrive.
The Evesham town centre half-price bus fare offer has been extended into 2014 until the Abbey Bridge and viaduct reopens.
People are being reminded the half-price bus fare offer on all services in and out of Evesham town centre, which has been operating since September, is still in place.
The promotion, funded by Worcestershire County Council, applies to single, return, day and weekly tickets.
It was due to finish at the end of last year but will now remain In place until the link over the river Avon reopens to vehicles.
Cheaper parking is also in place, with it costing just 20p to park all day in a long-stay car park or for three hours in a short-stay car park.
Councillor John Smith, county council cabinet member for highways and councillor for Evesham North West, said: “The news of further delays to the reopening of the Abbey Bridge was bitterly disappointing.
“We are as committed as ever to helping traders and the community during this closure period and I'm pleased to be able to confirm that the half-price bus fare offer will remain in place until the link is reopened.
“I'd encourage anyone who hasn't already taken advantage of the promotion – the first of its kind ever in Worcestershire – to do so, hop on board and play a part in supporting our fantastic town.”
