TWO parent governors are needed to serve on a council committee.
Worcestershire County council wants one parent governor from a primary school and one from a secondary school to serve on its overview and scrutiny committees dealing with education.
Those taking part would represent parents in Worcestershire on educational issues, attend and contribute to committee meetings and feedback the county council's decisions to parents.
The idea is for parents of children in Worcestershire's schools to have a non-political voice on local educational matters and be able to hold the authority to account for educational policy and decision making.
Only those who are a parent governor at a school maintained by the county council and who have a child at one of the council's schools will be eligible to stand.
There is no salary for the position but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
The parent governor representatives are elected every four years.
Nominations must be received by the council by noon on Friday, February 7.
Nomination forms are available at worcestershire.gov.uk/cms/democratic-services/parent-governor-representative.aspx
