TWO burglaries in Bredon and another in Beckford, which left home owners with hundreds of pounds worth of damage, have been linked by police.

Both break-ins took place during the second week in January and in both cases the offenders entered the homes from the back gardens.

The first break in happened sometime between 11pm on Monday, January 6, and 8.15am on Wednesday, January 8.

Burglars got into the back garden of a property in Perwell Close, Bredon, near Pershore, and tried, using a tool, to force open the door into the garage.

When they were unsuccessful, they used the tool to smash a patio door at the rear of the home.

They made a mess of the living room and two bedrooms causing around £500 in damages but it is not know if anything was taken.

A home in Blenheim Drive, Bredon, was also burgled sometime between 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 7, and 8.30am the next day.

Once again the thieves smashed a patio door at the back of the building.

They then made an untidy search of the rooms, stealing several items of jewellery including a gold wedding ring, an emerald and gold engagement ring, a jade filigree design pendant and a pair of gold and pearl earrings.

It is estimated £650 worth of damage was caused to the garden fence and patio door.

Burglars also broke into a holiday cottage in Beckford, near Evesham, sometime between 6pm on Wednesday, January 8, and 8am the following day.

They also used a tool to force a rear door and searched the property causing £100 of damage, but nothing appears to have been taken.
