BUDDING young singers from across the Vale joined thousands of children and celebrity Stacey Soloman at one of the largest children's choir events in the country.

Excited pupils from Willersey C of E Primary School and Fladbury First School travelled to the LG Arena on Tuesday, January 14, for the Young Voices event.

The children have been preparing for the event for months and have had to learn a variety of songs and dance moves for the day, including tunes fromChitty, Chitty Bang, Bang, Mary Poppins, a pop medley and folk songs from around the country.

And it all proved worth while as the choirs got the chance to join Stacey Soloman as she recorded a new song for her upcoming album accompanied by all the children.

Elaine Mather, teacher at Fladbury, said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed the Young Voices experience. All of the children have loved sharing music and singing together. It has been an unforgettable experience.”

Choir leader, parent at Willersey school, and professional singer, Julie Wood, added: "About a year ago I volunteered my time and started a choir. We have 13 children aged seven to 11, so it's only small. The children were so excited about doing it, it was amazing. They had a lot to learn but they did great."
