COUPLES will have the opportunity to renew their wedding vows at a special Valentine's day service at Worcester Cathedral.

It is the second year the short celebration has been held.

The couples will be invited to re-commit their relationship to God before they go out and enjoy the rest of their evening together on Friday, February 14.

This year, the 7pm service will be led by the Archdeacon of Worcester, Roger Morris along with his wife, Sally, who is also an ordained minister as well as deputy head of a Gloucestershire school.

The couple will share their thoughts on the importance of marriage and the impact it has had on their lives.

The Venerable Mr Morris said: “Sally and I have been married for over 22 years.

"When we were married, someone wished us the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of Job and the tribes of Israel.

"Sally is very wise, when it comes to patience I try hard and we are delighted with having just the two children.

"Marriage has been a real life-enhancing gift and fun.”

All are welcome to the 30 minute service in the cathedral's Lady Chapel.

The service is also part of the Love Worcester festival which will bring a host of romantic events to the city from Friday, February 14 to Sunday, February 23.
