THE first guests to arrive at the brand new House Spa in a Broadway hotel arrived to a champagne reception when it opened its doors for the first time this morning.

It’s the first time the boutique hotel, part of the 400-acre Farncombe Estate, has had a spa facility and the addition is the final part of a £10 million re-imagining of the hotel.

Suzanne Deacks, aged 33, from Greet was first through the door at 7.30am today.

She was welcomed by spa membership manager Tracy Whelan with a congratulatory bottle of Veuve Clicquot.

"I came to see House Spa when it was still a building site," said Mrs Deacks, who joined as part of a family group of five. "It’s really lovely, even better than the pictures. My mum, husband, father and brother have all joined too.

"What attracted me was the personal training element. I’ve been counting the days to the opening and I thought I’d come for an early swim. I thought I should start as I mean to go on."

Spa members qualify for 50 free personal training sessions a year, worth £2,000, in the studio, one of two spa gyms.

Other unique features include a candlelit 16-metre infinity pool, an outdoor hydro pool, Rasul mud therapy suite and champagne nail parlour. An extensive thermal suite includes a Salt Infusion Steam Room, Lavender Sauna and Juniper Finnish Sauna.

Zoe Dougas, spa manager, said: "We believe House Spa is one of the most beautiful and welcoming spas in Britain. It was a great feeling to welcome our first guests after months of planning and training. I couldn’t be more proud of my team and all the work they’ve put in to launching this stunning new spa."

Individual spa membership rates are £162pcm.
