New sweet shop hoping for sweet smell of success
4:54pm Wednesday 12th February 2014 in News
THERE is a new sweet shop that has opened in Evesham town centre.
Gummy Gumdrops run by Tom Rose has taken on retail premises on Vine Street and is hoping to build on a successful trade operation at Blackminster Business Park.
For the past three years Mr Rose has been supplying more than 200 different types of sweets to the trade from premises at the business park, ranging from classic all-time favourites to a few modern day creations.
He said: "I think this is a good time to invest in Evesham as we know the bridge closure will end before too long and with it, this part of Evesham should definitely benefit.
"I am close to some excellent, entrepreneurial retailers and together we have a great deal to offer our customers and visitors, from this part of the town centre.
"In my case this will include traditional sweet favourites, many of which I am able to supply to original recipes that will be remembered from childhood. They include sweet ranges from the 1930s onwards."
Gummy Gumdrops is open Mondays to Saturdays from 9am to 5.30pm and can be contacted on 01386 244762.
