THE Mayor of Worcester has given her backing to a campaign declaring the city open for business despite the floods.

Cllr Pat Agar has been visiting businesses across the Faithful City as part of Worcester BID's (Business Improvement District) efforts to promote the message that people can shop, eat and play to their heart's content even though the water levels have been wreaking havoc.

A number of traders across the city have been photographed with the campaign's blackboard to help spread the word and with the floodwaters beginning to recede, shoppers can now get about with a bit more ease.

Cllr Agar said: "With the river level finally going down it's vital that we get the message out that Worcester is open for business, so I'm delighted to support Worcester BID's campaign.

"Worcester city centre boasts a fantastic range of shops, cafés, restaurants and nightlife. There's something for everyone, so come and enjoy our great city."
