A SEASONED fundraiser from Pershore and her friend are gearing up to take part in the Silverstone Half Marathon next month.

Sue Cosnett and friend Sara Coleman, who is expecting a baby in August, will take on the challenge on Sunday, March 2.

For Ms Cosnett is another in a long run of events but it is the first for Mrs Coleman.

"It's the first time I have done an event with my friend Sara," said Pershore resident Ms Cosnett. "And as she is pregnant it will be even more special.

"When she signed up for it she didn't know she was pregnant but the doctor said it was OK for her to carry on.

"We will be raising money for Cancer Research, which is a cause close to both our hearts. I lost my mum to cancer and Sara knows people who have died and who have cancer now."

But the fundraising won't end there for Ms Cosnett as she is also set to take on the London Marathon in April.

"I have done it a few times but this time I am raising money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of my uncle Gerald Cosnett, who died of a heart attack a year ago on Saturday (February 22)."

To support the ladies visit them at either the Talbot in Pershore, where Ms Cosnett works, or the New Inn, also in Pershore, where Mrs Coleman's husband is the manager.
