RESIDENTS of the new Malvern Vale estate are inviting people to share a cuppa with them when they celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.

The Malvern Vale Community Association is holding a Traidcraft Big Brew event next Friday, February 28, to help farmers in poorer countries.

As well as selling tea and Traidcraft goods, members will be knitting tea cosies at the party, which runs from 2pm to 4pm.

Money raised will help support Traidcraft's mission is to fight poverty through trade.

Karen Levett of the association said: “This event is a great opportunity to increase awareness of Fairtrade and the issues faced by producers in the developing world. By serving Fairtrade tea and raising funds, we are helping to make a difference to the lives of producers across the world.”
