THE seven-foot henchman who helped a serial killer to randomly attack dog walkers in Hereford has been found guilty of two attempted murder charges.
A jury last week found Gary Stretch guilty of both offences related to the two stabbings in Whitecross and Hunderton last April.
Robin Bereza was attacked on the junction of Holmer Street and Westfaling Street while John Rogers was left for dead on a footpath off Golden Post.
Cambridge Crown Court was told that Stretch’s friend Joanna Dennehy had admitted two attempted murder
charges in connection with the Hereford attacks.
Stretch, 48, of Peterborough, had driven Dennehy to the city after she had killed three men in Cambridgeshire.
Dennehy, 31, and from Peterborough, had also admitted three murder charges.
However, Stretch, formerly of Kington, had denied the attempted murder charges and was tried before a jury. He was also found guilty of three counts of preventing the lawful and decent burial of Dennehy’s victims in Cambridgeshire.
He will now face sentencing at the Old Bailey, alongside the tattooed triple-murderer Dennehy, in the next couple of weeks.
