A BRAND new mosaic created and designed for an Evesham school has taken pride of place in the early years learning department.
The piece of art, which shows an owl flying out of the sun, was the idea of youngsters at Bengeworth First School and artist Richard Gibson.
Pupils worked with Mr Gibson, of art company Claydayz, over a period of time to create the design and he made the idea a reality with the finished piece being delivered to the school on Friday, March 7.
The key stage 1 art work featured the owl, as pictured, while the key stage 2 piece was a clay based piece depicting stained glass windows and children's art work in each section.
Teacher Virginia Tillotson said: "The idea came from the school council. They decided they wanted a piece of art work so we had a sponsored event which raised £1,500. Then we found Richard Gibson.
"He worked with a lot of the children in both key stages 1 and 2."
The art work is now displayed in the school.
