EVESHAM'S Probus Club welcomed a new president and committee at a recent meeting.
Jim Cox, of Lichfield Avenue in Evesham, was named as the club's new president taking over from Bob Young, and he said he had some big shoes to fill.
The retired RAF Squadron Leader, who served at Boscombe Down as a flying instructor and flew one of the last Comets, said: "I was very nervous about taking over because Bob has been such a good president. I think they will be expecting me to tell a joke at every meeting so I will have to dig down into the archive back to my airforce days."
Mr Cox will serve in the role for a year.
He will be supported by the committee who were named as Bill Underwood, Brian Melville, Grenville Burrows, Cliff Blackborrow, Brian Ireland and Chris Donough.
