BROWNIES in Broadway have been celebrating after they were awarded hundreds of pounds by a local group.
The 1st Broadway Brownies were chosen by the Evesham Round Table as a local group to receive a donation of £427.
Katie Johns, Brown Owl for the club, said: "Every year the Evesham Round Table do their Santa Sleigh around local towns and villages in the area. They give money to their charities but also to groups that help with the sleigh. We helped them out so they donated some money to us.
"It will go towards helping the girls celebrate the Big Brownie Birthday as this year sees the centenary of Brownies. It is going on from January to July this year. We will be putting it towards our trip to France.
"We are taking seven Brownies on the Eurostar and travelling to Normandy, and spending a day in Belgium."
