THE Vale of Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association will hold its Annual General Meeting at the Evesham Hotel on Wednesday (March 19) at 6pm.
VECTA chairman, Tony Rowland, will also report on the association’s programme of initiatives, funding and support for the town’s business community over the last 12 months and the priorities for the year ahead.
Also attending is Evesham Market Town Partnership Manager, Shawn Riley, who will brief members on the forthcoming calendar of community events and festivals planned for 2014.Among last year’s achievements was a three-month radio advertising campaign to promote shopping in Evesham whilst VECTA also sponsored Wychavon Festival of Brass events in town and Evesham’s new Christmas lights display.
Aims for this year include having another Evesham Pie and Ale Festival, on 13 September, to celebrate the finest food and drink local producers have to offer. The event is organised by VECTA members and proved hugely successful last year.
“It’s been a productive and busy year for VECTA as we knew it would be with the challenge of working around the Abbey Bridge closure,” said Mr Rowland.
“We would also welcome to the AGM any other businesses interested in coming along, who can learn more about VECTA and meet existing members.”
