A BUDDING florist will be raising money for couples wishing to wed as he takes on a charity cycle challenge.

Later this year James Birch, plans to ride from London to Paris all in aid of the Wedding Wishing Well charity, which helps terminally ill people get married.

The 30-year-old, of Davies Road in Evesham, is now hoping people will support his journey and help him raise £1,500.

"Because I am starting up by own floristry business this year, Silver Birch Bouquets, I wanted to support a wedding orientated charity.

"I don't have a charity that is close to my heart so when I heard the founder of the Wedding Wishing Well on the radio I thought it was great and it is the perfect charity for my business to support.

"The cycle ride will take me four days and I will bike from London to Paris."

To raise money before he embarks on the fundraising journey on September 3, Mr Birch is holding a number of events in Evesham.

The first of the fund raising events, a charity wedding fayre, is set to take place at Evesham Town Hall on Sunday, April 6, from noon until 4pm.

Guests will enjoy a champagne and afternoon cream tea and could win their wedding flowers by Silver Birch Bouquets.

"I am having a French night in the town, which is fully booked," added Mr Birch, who currently works as a waiter. "I am also holding a summer ball with a back to Broadway theme on Saturday, July 12, also at the Town Hall in Evesham. Tickets for this will be £12.50."

Anyone who would like to exhibit at the wedding fayre can email Mr Birch on jamesbirch2005@hotmail.co.uk or for more information visit facebook.com/silverbirchbouquets.
