A RACE night held to support this year's Pershore Carnival raised £410.
The event, on March 8, was sponsored by a number of Pershore businesses including Riverside Fishbar, Amber Hairdressing, Avon Leisure Cruises, Newlands Fishbar, Fruit Salad, Print2Clothing, Upper Crust and the Brandy Cask, which sponsored the Dave Shaw cup in honour of the late councillor who who was a huge supporter of the carnival.
Liz Hackett-Smith, carnival secretary, said: "We had a fantastic night. This money combined with all our other fundrasing efforts and kind donations will go to put on a fantastic carnival again this year.
"We have so much entertainment planned for the arena that we have had to look at starting the arena events earlier than usual."
The carnival will take place on Monday, May 26, with the farmers market on the park from 10am, and a companion dog show.
The procession will start at 1pm with a theme of heroes and villains.
