EVESHAM Library is hosting a free teen workshop in order to find the next generation of comic book writers.

The event will take place at Evesham Library in Oat Street, on Saturday, April 12, between 12.30pm and 4.30pm.

During the day participants will be shown how to produce their own comic book from scratch.

The library has enlisted the services of two experts to put young people through their paces.

Luke Paton, who works part-time as one of Evesham's library customer advisors, but also writes for magazines and comic strips will be on hand.

He has written a Doctor Who strip for the Doctor Who Adventures magazine, currently writes the occasional Wallace and Gromit comic strip featured in The Sun newspaper and has also self-published his own web comic.

There will also be Louis Burrows, who is currently attending The University for Creative Arts, studying for a BA (Hons) degree in Illustration, has produced the artwork for the Worcestershire Young Persons Library Card and has also exhibited his art across the country.

Suzanne Owen, library customer advisor at Evesham Library, said: "If you are interested in a career in art, illustration or creative writing, this an ideal opportunity to pick the brains of the expert support provided on the day. Or just come along with your imagination and have some fun – book your place early to avoid disappointment."
