ROBOTS created by three teams of young engineers at Evesham High School have battled their way through the National VEX championships.

Following regional qualifying competitions earlier in the year, three teams from the school, took part in the finals at the Big Bang Fair at the NEC Birmingham on March 14 and 15.

They were in the last 40 from 400 teams from all over the country who competed in the VEX Robotics Championships.

The teams ended up fourth, eighth and twelfth after the qualifying matches and despite hard fought , closely scoring, semi final matches, all teams were unfortunately defeated.

Two of the teams were awarded trophies, one for innovative design and the other for durability during competition.

The boys and staff said they had an amazing couple of days in Birmingham competing and are determined to go from strength to strength.

Despite only having been set up about 18 months ago, through generous support from ABSSAC, Allen Gears and Evesham Rotary Club, the club has been able to expand and is keen to forge links with local businesses.
