GUESTS at this year's dinner to celebrate St George's day in Evesham can enjoy the taste of the Mediterranean.

Local celebrity chef Felice Tocchini will be serving up the food at Evesham Town Hall on St George's Day, Wednesday, April 23 with an Italian twist.

Hosted by the Mayor of Evesham, the event is a traditional highlight of the town's calendar and one of the key fundraising events for the Mayor's charitable appeal.

The menu, described by chef Tocchini as "Traditional English cuisine with an Italian twist", will be served to a musical backdrop fromEvesham favourites, Avonbank Brass Band and the barbershop vocal group from Prince Henry's High School.

Mayor Mark Goodge said: "I'm delighted that this year's St George's Dinner will have such a good line up.

"We're aiming to celebrate our national day with a fusion of traditional and modern, with a focus on local providers of both food and music."

All proceeds from the evening will be split between The Bell Tower Restoration Appeal, Caring Hands in the Vale and Ourside Youth Centre.
