12:00am Thursday 3rd April 2014 in News
GREEN-fingered residents at an Upton care home will be going back to nature to plant saplings at their home’s spring fair.
Beechwood Residential Care Home, Holly Green, will be welcoming visitors to the fair on Saturday, April 5, between 10am and noon, when they will be invited to lend a hand by planting on me or more of 30 saplings donated by The Woodland Trust.
There will also be an opportunity to browse the stalls, enjoy a cuppa and cake and listen to music from singer June Crowle.
Home manager Jemma Robinson said: “We are lucky to be in a beautiful part of the countryside here in Upton, so are thrilled to be planting these saplings to enhance the front gardens at our home and do our bit to help the environment.”
John Tucker of the Woodland Trust said: "“By teaming up with local communities like Beechwood, the Woodland Trust is working to increase our native woodland cover. "
