TWENTY of the Vale's best craft food producers will pack out Bretforton Memorial Hall at 10am on Saturday, April 12, for a village tasting session to help select suppliers for the new Community Shop.

The tasting day will feature a range of local craft food producers, including Spot Loggins ice cream which is made in the village and Vermontier cakes and pastries from nearby Willersey. Feedback from visitors will be used to help select permanent suppliers for the new shop.

The planned shop, to be located on the car park of Bretforton Community Social Club and will provide villagers with a wide range of products and services. As well as general provisions and local food products, the new enterprise will also feature a coffee shop which is expected to become an important local meeting point and village hub.

Chris Buckham, Chair of Bretforton Community Shop, said: "We are in the final stages of fund raising and are extremely confident that a new community shop will be open this summer.

"We are committed to stocking food from local growers and producers and this event will help them showcase their wares to the village ahead of the shop opening."
