PERSHORE traders are reaching for their party hats as they prepare to celebrate two years of having their own loyalty card with a special prize draw.

The town was the first in the country to launch a trader led scheme, and it's an idea that has proved popular.

Organisers of the Pride scheme, the Pershore Chamber of Trade, have been contacted by town's as far away as Emsworth in Hampshire and Minehead, Somerset.

Now they are marking the latest milestone with a bumper prize draw.

"We had no idea what we were starting," said organiser Fiona Abbott. "We, Pershore Chamber of Trade, wanted a way to encourage residents and visitors to utilize the businesses within the town and to be aware of the variety of businesses the town has."

The card can be used in over 100 of the businesses and are free. Users get a stamp after every pound they spend in a shop and have to get ten before the card can be submitted.

"We are really pleased the scheme has proved a success and we never thought months after the launch, we would be advising other towns on how they could launch their own loyalty card," added Miss Abbott. "We have worked with traders in Emsworth, Minehead and Droitwich, all of which have now launched their versions of Pride."

To be in with a chance of winning one of the special prizes this month enter a completed Pride card by Friday, April 28, and you could win a meal for two at The Pickled Plum, a hamper worth £20 from Bubble Bath Gifts, a bottle of Sol de Andes Sauvignon Blanc from Capers Fine Foods, a £5 Voucher for Newlands Fish Bar, a £5 Voucher for Abbey Crafts, a Snickle Futts Air Puppy from Happy Robin, a bird feeder and bird seed from Pershore Pets and Livestock, a magnetic handbag holder from Chillistone Boutique and £25 worth of Pride Shopping Vouchers.
