AN Evesham mushroom supplier welcomed local politicians to its factory as they made a tour of businesses in the area.

Nigel Huddleston, who is hoping to become the MP for Mid Worcestershire at the next elections for the Conservative party, visited Walsh Mushrooms in Vale Park alongside Chairman of Wychavon District Council councillor Gerry O’Donnell and local county councillor Bob Banks.

After discussions on what local businesses would be looking for from the next government, Mr Huddleston looked around the Walsh production and packing facility.

Padraic O’Leary, managing director of Walsh Mushrooms, said: "We were delighted to welcome Nigel Huddleston to our factory in Vale Park Evesham.

"Nigel had a tour of the factory and was very impressed with the operation in general. We sat down for a discussion on the issues affecting our business in the area after the tour.

"Nigel came across as being very well informed on the issues that most companies face and he undertook to represent local businesses should he get elected. We wish him all the best in the upcoming election and look forward to welcoming him back as our local MP."
