CARING guardians of the brook at Simon de Montfort Middle School took on a big challenge following the floods and poor weather of the winter.
The award winning brook area had been spoiled by a mixture of debris washed into the area by the flooding and people dumping rubbish over the fence.
So the flood guardians got busy clearing the area to return it to its former glory.
Year 6 pupil Connor Hill said: "We found a lot of rubbish scattered particularly along the area by the public footpath. This included many cans and bottles thrown into the wildlife area.
"This can damage the habitats of many animals. We would like to ask people to use the bins provided rather than throw rubbish in towards the brook."
