THE Dormy House Hotel near Broadway has announced the arrival of a new head chef with an international pedigree.

Jon Ingram has worked everywhere from London to Dubai but has recently joined the luxury Cotswold hotel and spa.

"I am really excited to be joining the team at Dormy House," said the 37-year-old. "There is such a buzz about the place. I am determined to make the hotel renowned for its food as well as its style, service and location. After nearly five years in London, it’s also great to get some fresh air in my lungs."

Born in Kent, Mr Ingram began his culinary career at Champneys health resort in Tring, progressing to Cliveden, one of the UK’s finest country house hotels, and the famous Burj al Arab in Dubai.

"I worked for three years at the Burj, which at the time was the world’s only seven-star hotel," added the chef. "I ran the Al Muntaha restaurant, which is suspended 200 meters above the sea."

He comes to the Cotswolds from his post as executive head chef at the Intercontinental Westminster and is looking forward to putting his own stamp on the hotel.

He said: "I want to take this wonderful opportunity and give it my own stamp. Both The Garden Room and The Potting Shed are fast gaining a great reputation and I intend to take them to the next level."
