FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a car fire near Bidford-on-Avon.
Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service were called just before 8.50am yesterday (Thursday) to the blaze in Grafton Lane after receiving four emergency 999 calls from the public.
A crew from Alcester attended and found a vehicle was well alight on the roadway.
They used a hose reel jet to douse the flames and requested the attendance of the highways department as the fire had damaged the road surface.
