VISITORS to Broadway Tower have been enjoying some extra sight seeing as youngsters from a village first school placed 99 coloured Easter eggs around the tourist attraction.

The handmade eggs were crafter by pupils at Broadway First School who then hid them around the tower on Thursday, April 10.

Each egg was labelled and the school has been contacted by people, as far away as America, who have found the eggs and taken one home as a souvenir.

Two of the emails came from Washington D.C., USA. One from Bob Ryan said: "I found a lovely Easter egg on Broadway Tower, mostly yellow, with four flowers on the bottom, a red and orange layer, and two smaller flowers on the yellow background above the orange layer. It is beautiful."

Peter and June Underwood also wrote to the students on behalf of the Easter egg which is now in Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. The email said: "It’s a long way from Broadway, about 50 miles, but I’m in a nice garden sitting by a small water feature underneath an apple tree. At first I missed my other Easter Egg friends from Broadway First School but now I’m making some new friends with a stone duck, frog and a metal chick and the birds that come to have a bath in the water."

Liz Taylor, teacher at Broadway First School, said: "The tower walk took place on Thursday. By Friday lunchtime we had received photos and emails, amazing.

"We will be making a map to pinpoint where the eggs have travelled to on return to school."
