AN audience favourite is bringing a new selection of poems and stories to the stage.

Pam Ayres has been a popular figure since her first appearance on the ITV talent show, Opportunity Knocks, more than 35 years ago and her show at Malvern Theatres on Wednesday, May 7 will mix her new collection, You Made Me Late Again, with some familiar material.

The collection explores everything from wishing your husband was more dashing to becoming a granny for the first time in observant, witty and poignant poems.

From exploding wardrobes, to knowing you must eat more fruit, to the dog being afraid of the toaster - her subjects the everyday and the universal.

She has sold millions of books, albums, CDs and DVDs over the years, and she is still a regular on TV and radio on programmes such as Just a Minute, Ayres on the Air, QI, Countdown and the Paul O’Grady Show.

After the show, Pam will be signing copies of her autobiography, the Necessary Aptitude.

The talk in the Forum Theatre starts at 7.45pm and tickets are £25.20, including a 12 per cent booking fee.
